In 1965 there was a contest, a Doris Day look alike contest! These are the things the winner would receive!
Do you like to go to Hollywood? Do you like to make a film with Doris Day? Do you like a contract with the American LP company CSB? You can get all these things!
20th Century Fox are looking for a "double" of the Hollywood star Doris Day. Do you look like Doris Day? Then please send your photo to this address...The only condition, you should be over 18 years old.

And The girl , Tuula Mattila, was the winner of the look-a-like contest in 1965

    My Mum (Shirley Ashdown) was the contestant who won the British part of this international competition (run by the Daily Mirror) and went to Hollywood - I would love to track down other competition winners. Anyone reading this please reply. She has all the photos still - there is an amusing story of how one country thought it was just a beauty pageant so their dark haired winner looked very at odds with all the other Doris-a-likes!!
