At one time this movie was going to star Cary Grant and Greer Garson. When that project fell through it was turned into a musical.

Revealing mistakes: When Manuela and Serafin first meet near the sea, the seam of the backdrop is visible.
Revealing mistakes: When Serafin is walking the tightrope to Manuela's balcony, the support wires can be seen.
Crew or equipment visible: When Manuela's hat is blown off by ocean breeze, wire pulling it are clearly seen.
